What is Respite Care?
Respite Care is a support system for family caregivers. When you look after someone who is old, sick or disabled, it is a 24-hour job. You need a break from time to time to look after your own needs. Respite Care is designed to help in such situations.
Your breaks can be as long or short as you need them to be. You can set up Respite Care for a few days, weeks or months.
Respite Care can substantially reduce your risk of burnout and make caring for your loved ones more manageable. If you need time to rest and recuperate, Welcare Vatsalya can provide care services to your loved one while you spend time caring for yourself.
Who all can avail the benefits of Respite Care?
Respite Care is for anyone and everyone who needs help with family caregiving. For example, family members with any of the following difficulties may benefit from Respite Care –
- Family members recovering from major surgeries or illness (post-op care)
- Family members in need of palliative care
- Family members who need assistance in living their daily life
- Family members who are depressed or lonely
- Family members with paralysis or a terminal illness like cancer

What is the difference between Respite Care and Hospitalisation?
Respite care begins AFTER hospitalisation. Transitional care from hospital to home is especially challenging for patients and their family members.
As opposed to hospitalisation, respite care/post-op care/palliative care is when a person is looked after by healthcare professionals in the period following discharge from hospital.
Does Welcare Vatsalya also offer long-term care?

Family members need not stay whilst the guest us admitted to our facility. Our team is more than capable and experienced to look after your beloved family members in your absence.
Do family members get regular updates from the Vatsalya team?
We provide regular updates via whatsapp and phone calls to family members of our guests. We also arrange video calls on request.
